水球 Flippa Ball

Introduced in Nanyang in 2018 with the aim of nurturing a broad-based interest in sports, Flippaball is a beginner’s version of water polo where children enjoy the game safely in waist-deep waters.

The sport allows children to transfer the concept of invasion/territorial games from land to water. With the challenge of scoring a point for their team in the exciting game, children learn to manoeuvre in the water efficiently as they apply a combination of strokes and water treading through play. Their stamina is challenged as they gradually transit into actual water polo play.

The team participated in their first competition through the ActiveSG Flippaball Festival held at Our Tampines Hub and the children had a fun-filled day as they worked hard to pit their skills against more experienced teams.
