aesthetics.pngVision

A vibrant arts culture leading towards aesthetics excellence

Mission

  • To encourage an appreciation of the arts
  • To engage in celebrating the vibrancy of life
  • To equip with skills to create
  • To express inner thoughts and emotions

Goals

Pupils should be able:
  • To perform existing Arts
  • To create new Arts
  • To respond to the Arts

To cultivate the pupils’ interest in the Arts, the school created a vibrant Arts environment. In Nanyang, pupils thrive on exciting Visual and Performing Arts programmes. Pupils are developed and trained in a variety of Aesthetics skills, knowledge and values and as a result, they are able to communicate their thoughts, ideas and feelings well.

To encourage pupils to appreciate the arts better, the programmes are based on themes.  For P1 – P2,  pupils focus on knowing their roots (Chinese arts and culture), P3 – P4 pupils move on to knowing our neighbours (regional cultures and art forms) and P5-6 pupils learn about the new media and about world culture (being global citizens).

To cater to the varying needs of the pupils, the programmes are conducted based on the 3Es approach: Experience, Enrich and Excel.
